Totally Stockport Krazy Races

We are thrilled to be one of two headline charities at Totally Stockport’s Krazy Races national award-winning soapbox derby event which is returning to Stockport on Sunday 28th July 2024, from 10am to 5pm starting from St Peter’s Square.

Come and join thousands of spectators from across Stockport and beyond to cheer on the krazy, wacky and outrageous soapbox downhill racers. Launching themselves through Stockport in their carefully hand-crafted karts the racers will tackle a track of over 350m with chicanes, obstacles, water and more!

The Krazy Races team are looking for a maximum of 40 amateur teams who will be entertaining the crowds and competing to be the best dressed, have the best designed and the fastest soapbox karts powered by nothing more than krazy courage, wacky inspiration, gravity and a bit of luck!

Event details

Take part in our ObstaColour Run, which combines the fun of colour and obstacles! You will be showered with multi-coloured paint as you walk, run or jog the 5km route taking on lots of exciting obstacles along the way.

It takes place in Woodbank Park on Sunday 15th July and the waves begin at 11am, you can select the next available time slot during registration.

The whole family is welcome to join us at this event, children under five go free, so it is a great thing for families to get together on a Sunday morning and take part in to support your local hospice.

Once you have registered we will send you a dedication ribbon. On the ribbon, you can write the name of someone who means something to you and tie it around your wrist on the day. As you cross the finish line, you will see the Tree of Dedication where you can hang your dedication ribbon.

Please note: The colour powder (a safe, environmentally friendly cornstarch) is not recommended for anybody under the age of 3 but the two colour stations can be avoided. A few of the inflatable obstacles may not be suitable for all ages but anyone can bypass them if they’re not suitable or should they prefer to.

Unfortunately, in bad weather, the grass area in the park can become very muddy.  In these circumstances, the ground would be unsuitable for pram and wheelchair users.

Dress code

Start in white, end up bright! Please wear clothing that you don’t mind getting colourful. The colour is 100% natural and should wash out in a normal washing machine cycle however we can’t guarantee this.

We will provide free glasses to protect your eyes from the powder paint.
