Our new hospice

Moya Cole Hospice officially moved into a brand new, purpose-built building in Heald Green in May 2026.

Moya Cole Hospice has provided outstanding care and support to people across Greater Manchester for 55 years, having opened at the previous Heald Green site in 1971. The old building served the hospice well, but was no longer fit for purpose to deliver modern day specialist care.

With the help of our donors, supporters and community, the much-needed new hospice is now a reality.

The state-of-the-art facility is located on a new road, Hardy Field Lane, next door to our old building on St Ann’s Road North. Our other hospice in Little Hulton, Salford, is unaffected by the move of the Heald Green site.

The new building matches the level of outstanding care and support that the teams at Moya Cole Hospice are known for, ensuring we will be here for the people of Greater Manchester for generations to come.

A hospice for the future

The new facility will transform the experience for our patients and their loved ones.

It includes a bright, modern, spacious inpatient unit with 21 individual en-suite bedrooms and two three-bed bays, all featuring homely furnishings and access to private outdoor terraces.

Our Being You Centre for outpatients is greatly improved, with more space for counselling, patient and family support, and complementary therapies – as well as dedicated space for palliative rehabilitation.

The new hospice gives us space to expand our work, becoming a centre of training excellence and a hub of innovation, working with partners in palliative and end-of-life care across Greater Manchester.
