Introduction
We are looking to appoint a Clinical Fellow in Palliative Medicine to join our established medical team at Moya Cole Hospice, providing excellent medical care to those living with or affected by life‑limiting illness. This post is primarily based at Little Hulton, with some cross‑site working as required.
The Role
You will play an integral role in delivering holistic medical care to our patients, working closely with consultants and the multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the daily review and medical management of patients on the inpatient unit
- Undertaking initial and ongoing assessments using the electronic patient record with senior support
- Participating in consultant‑led ward rounds and the on‑call rota (1 in 5)
- Supporting medical input to the Being You Centre and 24‑hour advice line as required
- Participating in education, audit, quality improvement and research activities
The Person
You will be a motivated doctor with an interest in palliative medicine and a desire to develop skills further.
You will have:
- Full GMC registration
- MBBS or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience (or equivalent experience demonstrating the required level of competence)
- Breadth of clinical experience (e.g. oncology, elderly care or general medical specialties)
- Strong communication, organisational and multidisciplinary team‑working skills
- The ability to attend the hospice within 45–60 minutes when on call
