Let us collect and recycle your Christmas tree to help support local patients and their loved ones.

The Manchester Christmas Tree Recycling Scheme is back, and bigger than ever!

This January, we are once again working with national charity JustHelping to collect and recycle real Christmas trees to raise funds for Moya Cole Hospice, Francis House Children’s Hospice and other local charities in the community.

Residents are invited to register their real Christmas tree for collection, with donations warmly welcomed. Friendly volunteers will collect and recycle your tree, hassle-free – no trips to the tip, no needles in your car,  no waste! The trees are chipped and repurposed to support pathways and forest management in local parks, including Wythenshawe Park and Wardley Hall.

The January 2026 Manchester collection raised £140,384 for Greater Manchester charities by collecting 6,788 trees, with net proceeds distributed to Moya Cole Hospice, Francis House Children’s Hospice, JustHelping, and other local causes. Plus, approximately 109 tonnes of CO₂ emissions were saved by diverting trees from landfill. Our 2027 goal is even higher, and with your support, we hope to accomplish it.

The deadline for registering your tree is Sunday 10 January.

Collection dates

Your tree will be collected by our volunteers between 14-19 January.

Sponsorship & volunteering opportunities

  • Join the tree collection crew – head out across Manchester collecting registered Christmas trees
