Trek through the Sahara dunes for Moya Cole Hospice!
Moya Cole Hospice is offering two Sahara treks for 2027
From Marrakech to the billowing sand dunes of the Sahara, Julie Pendrill got to experience it all as she trekked across Morocco for Moya Cole Hospice.
Moya Cole Hospice is once again offering a number of overseas treks to our supporters as a fundraising challenge.
Julie took on the Sahara oversees trek for the hospice as she wanted to give something back for the care her sister-in-law, Suzanne received at Little Hulton in September, 2024.
“While Suzanne was there, I was pacing the corridors and I saw that the hospice was advertising overseas treks,” Julie said.
I told Suzanne that I was interested, and she told me I should just do it. So I went to the open evening and signed up right away Julie Pendrill, Moya Cole Hospice Supporter
According to Julie, the trek was very well organised. They were met at the airport in London and they felt very well taken care of throughout the trip.
“There were parts that felt a bit daunting but then you just settled into it because we were with a group of 20 people all in the same situation.
“We all supported each other and the trekking itself was challenging but achievable. The camping was fine, the food was just marvelous considering we were in the middle of the Sahara,” Julie laughed.
“It was just great fun and I made a few friends along the way.”
We are holding an informal, free information evening for Sahara 2027 treks on Wednesday, 21 October at 6.00pm. This is an opportunity to find out more about the challenge from the Global Adventures team and ask any questions.
“I would recommend anyone to do the Sahara trek whatever their age – it’s truly a life changing experience”Julie said.
