Hospice Band 3, Competency Based Framework (£24,793 – £26,444 pro rata). Enhancements of between 30% and 60% for weekends, bank holidays, unsocial hours
Hours
23 – 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, including nights)
Day 7:00am – 7:30pm
Night 7:00pm – 7:30am
* 11.5 hours per shift and a 60-minute break.

The Role
The Health Care Assistant (HCA) supports patients and those close to them within the inpatient unit, delivering compassionate care to people with life-limiting illness. Working under hospice policies and alongside registered nurses, the HCA contributes to the assessment, planning, and delivery of specialist palliative care. As part of the multi-disciplinary team, the HCA promotes safe, high-quality, and timely support. Moya Cole operates across two sites, and while based at one, the HCA may be required to provide cross-site or service cover.
The Person
We are looking for caring, team-focused Healthcare Assistants who can:
• Deliver compassionate, holistic support to patients and those closest to them
• Communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Stay organised and maintain accurate records in line with hospice standards
• Demonstrate a commitment to learning, reflection, and personal development
• Act as a professional ambassador for Moya Cole Hospice

The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which is covered by the hospice.
Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.
