Stepping Hill Radiology Team run in memory of colleague
The Radiology Team ran the Great Manchester Run in memory of their colleague Adam who died at 38
The Radiology Team at Stepping Hill Hospital turned grief into a powerful display of love and solidarity as they ran the Great Manchester Run in aid of Moya Cole Hospice.
The team lost their colleague Adam to a brain tumour in September last year at the young age of 38.
“Losing Adam at such a young age was devastating and affected everyone individually,” the Radiology Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust said.
“He had worked with us for many years, so it affected a lot of people. It was a very emotional time.
Many people within their trust take part in the Great Manchester Run’s 10k event and they decided to take part in Adam’s memory. It was a challenge for a few people on the team who had never taken part in runs before.
The Radiology Team stated: “We contacted Adam’s family as we wanted to run for a charity of their choosing. They chose Moya Cole Hospice who cared for Adam before he died, we celebrated in his spirit but also raised awareness and funds to help others who are also taken too soon. Every individual who crossed that 10k finish line was a symbol of Adam’s memory, ensuring that he is never forgotten. The run served as a grieving process and a joyful celebration of the time we all had with Adam. Crossing the finish line was a testament to the fact that his legacy will forever be an integral part of the team.
The Radiology Team at Stepping Hill have so far raised over £2,200 for Moya Cole Hospice. You can donate to their cause by visiting their JustGiving page.
