Sue Clifford says the Facebook group for the Moya Cole Hospice Walk 100 miles in September challenge was the ‘cherry on top’ as she gears up for our next challenge in February.

Walk, Run, Cycle, Swim or combine all four in our upcoming February challenge, complete 100kms however you fancy.

Sue Clifford enjoyed our previous walking challenge so much that she has now signed up for our February challenge.

“I signed up for the September challenge because I thought ‘why not?’, I’m already a regular walker and even more so now thanks to our new puppy, Stella!” Sue said.

Signing up for such a great cause was a no-brainer. Weekdays became a walking trifecta: a stroll before work, a quick loop at lunchtime, another walk after work. I walked longer on weekends with my husband Andy, our usual routine but with extra purpose. Sue Clifford, Moya Cole Hospice Supporter and Fundraising and Communications Support

“My motivation skyrocketed once I saw the donations coming in,” she added.

Sue continued: “The extra steps did wonders for my health and well-being. The Facebook group was the cherry on top. Fun conversations, stunning photos, and plenty of encouragement.

“Some participants even clocked their miles in far-flung holiday destinations, which made for gorgeous updates. It felt like being part of a little walking family, cheering each other on,” she said.

Sue raised a total of £176.80 for Moya Cole Hospice at the end of her challenge. She will be walking the February challenge and will have to walk 2.25 miles a day (5,208 steps).

“If you’re thinking about joining, do it! It’s for an amazing cause; it helps so many people, and it keeps you fit,” Sue said.
