Hospice Band 3, £24,937 – £26,598 per annum. Competency Based Framework
Hours
37.5 hours per week. Weekend work required. The service currently operates seven days per week, between 8am and 8pm

Job Summary
The Role
You will work as part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team, working in partnership with the patient, family & carers.
The Healthcare Assistant (Hospice @ Home) will:
- Assess, plan and deliver holistic, person-centred care.
- Support patients and carers physically, emotionally and spiritually.
- Keep accurate records and communicate clearly with the wider care team.
- Use your knowledge of local services to ensure the best support for every family.
- Occasionally provide cross-site cover when needed.
Requirements
The Healthcare Assistant (Hospice @ Home) will have:
- NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent in Care
- Or working towards NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent
- Or willingness to undertake NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent
- Be willing to undertake Compassion in care course
- Undertaken training in Communication
- Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle with car insured for business use
- The right to work in the UK. We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time
The Healthcare Assistant (Hospice @ Home) will be able to:
- Experience working in palliative care
- Previous hospital experience or experience of working in a similar care setting.
- Demonstrate an interest in specialist Palliative care

The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS Check at the level appropriate to the role, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.
