Beaverbrooks the Jewellers have generously supported the construction of the new St Ann’s Hospice building in Heald Green.

Construction of the new building began in June, 2024 and is necessary for St Ann’s as the current building is no longer fit for purpose.

Chairperson of Beaverbrooks, Mark Adlestone was invited to St Ann’s Hospice in Heald Green to view the progress of the new building, adjacent to the current site.

“Today’s visit was a fantastic opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the breadth of care and support St Ann’s Hospice provides to the people of Greater Manchester,” Mark said.

It was also incredibly exciting to see the progress being made on the new hospice site. The contrast between the current facilities and what is being built is remarkable, and I’m confident these developments will significantly enhance the already outstanding, patient-centred, specialist palliative care the hospice delivers. The Beaverbrooks Charitable Trust are pleased to have helped play a part in bringing the new build to this stage Mark Adlestone, Chairperson of Beaverbrooks

Mark was guided around the new hospice by members of the St Ann’s team and was shown the progress being made on the new patient bedrooms as well as the separate Being You Centre building, also under construction.

Chief Executive of St Ann’s Hospice, Rachel McMillan was present to show Mark around the new hospice building.

It was a pleasure to show Mark around, following the support we’d received from the Beaverbrooks foundation. His interest in the project, and understanding of the difference the build will make for patient care in the future, was very much appreciated. We look forward to the completion of construction and the opening of our new state-of-the-art hospice building Rachel McMillan, Chief Executive at St Ann's Hospice

The St Ann’s Hospice, Build it Together appeal is nearing its goal of £2m. This initiative was set up to ask the local community to help St Ann’s raise money towards the construction of the new building. We have now raised nearly £1.8m and the final push is being made to secure the final £200,000.
