A piano concert on behalf of Moya Cole Hospice will be taking place at Cheadle Hulme School this Sunday.

The concert is being organised by Jim Pendrill and his son Sam, and Philip Underwood.

This is the second year that the trio have organised a concert at the School after an event was held last year in memory of Jim’s sister Suzanne Karn.

Suzanne spent the last few weeks of her life in Little Hulton before she died at home in September last year, aged 43.

“Philip, Sam and I have done piano concerts together before,” Jim said. “Last year we decided it would be fitting to hold a concert in memory of Suzanne and raise funds for the hospice at the same time.

Coming up to the anniversary of Suzanne’s death, we decided to mark the occasion with another concert, especially as the event was so well attended last year. Also, it would have been Suzanne’s 45th birthday this Monday, the 20th, so having the concert the day before is another way to remember her Jim Pendrill, Moya Cole Hospice Supporter

According to Jim there is something for everyone who attends the concert.

“It’s not just a classical concert, there’s a range. Philip and I have been playing together for quite a few years and tend to play a range of classical and jazz pieces. Sam, who is a student at the Royal Northern College of Music, also sings and plays a wide variety of music including popular. This year I will also be playing a selection of solo piano pieces from Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals.”

The piano concert will take place this Sunday, October 19th at 2pm at Cheadle Hulme School, with refreshments afterwards.

Admission to the concert is free. For more information, contact Jim at jimpendrill@gmail.com
