Donate the cost of a match day pint to help your team win the Manchester Donation Derby

Manchester City host Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, September 14 while St Ann's Hospice hosts its first Donation Derby of the football season

By Cathal Doherty on September 4, 2025

City host United in the first Manchester derby of the 2025-26 Premier League season on Sunday, September 14. The same day, St Ann’s Hospice will host the Manchester Donation Derby, giving fans of both teams the opportunity to claim the title of ‘most charitable’.

We’re asking City and United fans to donate the price of a match day pint to your team’s page in aid of our Build it Together appeal for a much-needed new hospice in Heald Green, Stockport.

The funds will be going towards the new gardens that surround the hospice. Our aim for the gardens is simple, we want to tap into the powers of nature that have been proven to promote peace and calm. A hospice garden can provide a quiet, peaceful place away from clinical settings, reducing stress and anxiety.

Every pound we raise is still vital to ensure that we complete the hospice and are able to welcome our new patients. Thank you for helping to ensure that the hospice is here for everyone in the future.

We’re excited to host another Donation Derby, and calling for all United and City fans to get involved. We’re looking to see who will come out on top on the pitch and we’re looking forward to seeing which team will fund the most towards the new hospice gardens! Anne-Marie Wynne, Head of Fundraising and Capital Campaign at St Ann's Hospice

If you’re not a fan of either team but still want to get involved and help to build the new hospice, you can! You can donate to the overall campaign on JustGiving instead of the team pages for City and United.
